Some quick deck care tips!!

  • Appropriately wash the deck when necessary. Over a period of time, decks can be centers for mold and mildew growth, washing them correctly with the proper solution is critical. There are a number of cleaners available on the market to help with this specific need.
  • Inspect and perform any necessary repairs. With the rough winters we are accustomed to, it would not be surprising if your deck has a rotted piece or two that has recently emerged. As one example of accelerated wear, shoveling decks (if you partake in such things) can obviously create areas in need of repair as well. After a thorough review, it should be very apparent as to what specific repairs may be needed.
  • Refinish/protect your deck. Although it may seem like an easy task to do, proper deck coating and protection systems can often be a bit involved. Correctly research what coating system should be being used on your deck and address it appropriately.
