Victorian Revival
This is a home located in Providence, RI on the Washington Park section of Providence, RI/Edgewood section Of Cranston, RI border - an area whose architecture is probably one of the more under-appreciated areas of architecture in the state of RI.
This was an extensive project on an aging Victorian that was in obvious need of some serious attention.
The house was pressure washed using a chemical rinse down process. Any rotted wood that was found was replaced.
All the foundation windows in the home were replaced, the garage doors on the garage were replaced, the 2nd floor, front porch storm door was replaced, and prior to painting the entire front porch setup was completely re-constructed.
The two 1st floor, front porch doors were completely stripped to bare wood and had 1 coat of Minwax, oil stain applied to them and two coats of Minwax, Helmsman, oil, satin, clear polyurethane applied after the oil stain.
All peeling areas were scraped. One full coat of C2 oil-based exterior primer, tinted to match the finish coat color was applied to all included siding surfaces. One full coat of Sherwin Williams, A-100 oil-based exterior white primer was applied to all included trim surfaces in order to seal all bare wood and provide a sound surface over which to apply the finish coat. The finish coat was applied to all included siding surfaces and previously painted doors using one coat of Sherwin Williams, latex, Exterior SuperPaint, flat. The finish coat was applied to all included trim surfaces using one coat of Sherwin Williams, latex, Exterior SuperPaint, gloss. Finally, two coats of Sikkens, Rubol DEK solid oil stain was applied to all porch floor surfaces.
