This is a home located on the East Side of Providence. The home's exterior was in dire need of some TLC and we were honored to be chosen to bring it back to life.
The existing front stone wall was taken down, a new footing was installed, and a new stone wall was erected in its place.
The existing front steps were re-built using bluestone stair treads.
Two iron rails were installed on the front stair area.
The existing roof was stripped, a new plywood roof decking system was put in, and a new roof system was installed. In the process a skylight on the rear of the home was removed and a new one was installed in its place.
The existing gutter system was removed and a new seamless, white aluminum system was installed in its place.
The front porch was repaired as necessary with a new wooden rail system installed on both the front and rear entrances to the porch. The stairs leading to the rear porch were re-built.
All of the rotted/damaged beyond repair miscellaneous woodwork was removed and replaced.
The home was pressure washed using a chemical rinse down process.
All peeling areas were scraped and sanded (where appropriate). One full coat of Sherwin Williams, A-100 oil-based exterior primer, tinted to match the finish coat color was applied to all included siding surfaces and one full coat of Sherwin Williams, A-100 oil-based exterior white primer was applied to all included trim surfaces. In both cases this was done in order to seal all bare wood and provide a sound surface over which to apply the finish coat. The finish coat was then applied to all exposed siding surfaces using the number of coats needed to ensure an even and consistent finish coat of Sherwin Williams Woodscapes, acrylic solid stain. The finish coat was applied to all included trim surfaces using the number of coats needed to ensure an even and consistent finish coat of Sherwin Williams, latex, Exterior SuperPaint, satin. Two coats of ICI Dulux, oil-based porch and floor enamel with a "Shark's Grit" additive (to reduce slipperiness), were then applied to all porch floor surfaces.
